Excursion from Santiago with which we will have the opportunity to visit the House of Pablo Neruda (Chilean poet, diplomat and politician) in the Valparaíso / El Quisco region. A jewel in itself for its originality with a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. Built according to the specific canons of a ship, everything about it is reminiscent of the sea. The house treasures inside the wonders that the poet collected for decades in his last refuge.The exhibition includes masks, stern masks, giant butterflies, exotic shells, toys from his childhood and some other eccentricities hard to find elsewhere that are worth seeing. After the visit, we will leave for Pomaire, a village of pottery artisans famous in Chile for their clay handicrafts. Its famed ceramics are characterized by their reddish hue and smooth, shiny surface. In Pomaire, we will walk along the main street, where artisans exhibit their pots, pailas, rustic ornaments and decorative items.

  • 11:00 a.m. Visit to the Pablo Neruda House Museum
  • 12:30 p.m. Walk along the beach and visit to a craft and book store.
  • 13:30 Lunch in Pomaire or Isla Negra. (Optional)
  • 15:30 h Visit to Pomaire, a pottery town (where clay handicrafts are made).
  • 17:30 h Return to Santiago.
